Candy Holders

My daughter Jess brought along some cute mini bars of chocolate - actually they're Christmas ones but she was looking for ideas to decorate them up for gift giving.

Neither of us could lay our hands on our Christmas papers at the time so I played with scraps to see what kind of things we could come up with.

These were the mini chocolate bars before we started. I am soooo tempted to eat one or two of these right now but she has just given me a 'Special K' bar which was nice but not as nice as that chocolate I bet!

Since Jess was using my Big Shot machine and cutting several things to take home and craft with I handed her this scrap and asked her to cut out the 'top note' style die. Then I scored it in two places to make a 'gusset' for the choccie bar to sit in and brought both sides up around the candy.

I punched 2 holes in the top to thread ribbon through and although we were supposed to be thinking Christmas (we will make this for real with snowflakes, glitter and pretty Christmas paper honest) I grabbed whatever I had to hand to decorate it.

This shot shows the side view and you can just about see the choccie bar inside. Jess was real pleased with this idea and so I didn't need to go any further. She has ordered some fab Christmas papers online today so when they get to me I will cut a bunch out and send them on to her. These are gonna look really cute in a pretty basket.
