Christmas Wreaths

WOW! I cannot believe I almost let November go by without a single post!
I have been sooooooo poorly and despite being better I am still trying to get rid of one last remaining health issue - maybe then my energy level will return and I can start to feel good again.

I have been doing very little crafting since I just can't muster up the energy to do even that so this post is one for Christmas wreaths. We had a session at Crafty Women a week or so ago. I not only managed to drag myself through it but I was really pleased with my effort and it took my mind off myself for awhile. Thank goodness I wasn't the one teaching it.

This was my finished wreath and I was thrilled! One of the highlights for me this year has been the floral projects I have attempted to do. I am not very good at working with flowers and greenery and it has taken me out of my comfort zone too. I have enjoyed the challenge and opportunity to learn new skills so I am going to slip a few more projects into the programme for 2009. Tracy is such a good teacher and makes it seem so simple that you wonder why you never tried it before.

I loved watching Theresa and her mother because for a change her mother was 'in' her comfort zone and really confident. She ended up helping Theresa which was a turn about from the usual and it was so funny to watch them.

Helen getting to grips with her wreath. She always seems to do a good job.
And this is really what it's all about - sharing and learning from each other. Eunice was showing Sherilee how to wire up the orange slices to add to the wreath for a spalsh of colour and a fragrant scent.
Sadly the wreaths probably won't last until Christmas because we made them too soon but I don't know - if we're careful to take out a few brown leaves here and there and replace them with fresh and keep it watered it just might.
I have taught my last class at YTOC and I am teaching the last class of Crafty Women next Monday. After that it's the Christmas evening on 15th December, the men's breakfast on 6th December and the youth group's meal to do and then I think I am finished for the year!!!!
It seems like it has been a LONG time coming so I'm going to welcome the rest.
