Yesterday I decided to grab the set of stamps that I had originally intended to play with for this challenge and have a second go at this week's WMS sketch. And there couldn't be two more different cards. See for yourself....
I was desperate to create a card using that fabby little bunting from the 'bitty banners' set released this month - isn't it so, so cute!
I also had in mind to use the 'frame-it' set originally when I saw this week's sketch and since it was one of the ones my darling daughter bought me for Christmas I had yet to break ground with it. She wasn't so keen on this set herself so hopefully my first attempt with it will inspire her to like it. She just couldn't see herself using it. I guess there will always be some that take hold of you and then those that don't but I think Claire manages to ALWAYS design something for everyone with each release.
I chose to have my bunting 3D so it would leap off the card - giving it a 'flapping in the breeze' kinda feel to it. The colours in my project were determined by several ink pads that were out on the work top and I grabbed scraps of paper to match from my scrap basket. This card might not have all the detail I'm used to but for something fairly quick and simple it's perfect.
Hopefully in this shot you can see how I placed the bunting - flat at the top and 3D with foam pads towards the tip end. I used zigzag scissors when cutting them out so they'd have a 'frill' detail to them. I added the trio of stars along my frame border just to break up space a bit.
In all I used two sets of Waltzing Mouse stamps and a total of 7 stamps between the two. Even so - it went together in minutes.
The 'bitty banners' set is one of Claire's smaller sets and I like the idea of using it for a WMS workshop some time in May maybe? I haven't repeated the last workshop despite it's success and I know there are several of you out there who would be up for another one so watch this space! I get excited just thinking about another one LOL!
It's good to feel like crafting again so a bit more sitting at my kitchen table with some gentle stamping is the order for today I think. I'm going to attempt walking un-aided this weekend hopefully (I am sooooooo desperate to get back to normal already) so wish me luck!
Hugs

What a totally adorable card. Love your banner with your decorative edges and how you carried that into one of your layers. The trio of stars are a fantastic addition to the Frame-It border. A truly wonderful creation. Thanks so much for playing along with the Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge!
really pretty card - love the colours. I didn't get bitty banners but I might have to have a rethink now....
good luck with the walking this weekend. Just don't go too far at first.
Would be up for another WMS workshop - I do like them - just haven't got around to treating myself to any more.

Where do I start?! This is so darn cute!! Gingham AND polka dots. Two of my favs. I love that you combined Frame-It with Bitty Banners and those little pinked pennants are the best. Bitty Banners just arrived for me yesterday, so you have me totally inspired to break it out of the wrapper.
What a happy and fun card. LOVE your banner and your outline frame.
Thanks for playing along with the WMSC!
