These were the flowers I picked. I picked 3 small posies at Marks & Spencers, all of which cost just £1.99 each. One had cream coloured carnations and 3 gerbera, one had yellow roses and white carnations and the other had peach trimmed yellow roses.I got the greenery free from a friends garden which helped keep the cost down and fill out and frame the bouquet nicely.

It's a bit tricky getting the tissue and cellophane on but I have definately mastered the art of assembling the flowers and 'splaying' out the stems so it stands.
Getting the water in is certainly fun. I never thought I would love doing something like this. People have often told me that I should be good at it since I am creative but believe you me, flowers and I do not usually make a good mix. Firstly I suffer from hayfever (this seems strangely to be getting less as the years go by though) and I am all fingers and thumbs when handling them.
Heck I can't even put them in a vase to look pretty normally.
BUT I CAN DO THIS NOW!!! I am ecstatic about this - really I am!

Now when I need a nice gift I am going to make one of these so I won't ever forget how to do it. I think the next time I make one I will photograph the steps and post a tutorial!
The best part of this (besides the enjoyment I get making it) is that it cost about £8 including the cellophane, tissue paper and sheer ribbon for the bow. I think the one we got my mother for her 70th b'day cost us girls £35 (£40 by the time we had delivery added on) and it was not much different to this one.
