That Pretty Doily

Although things are still very much a work in progress I have popped that pretty doily on the shelf that hubby put up last weekend for now.  I love a bit of dainty lace hanging over the edge of something.

I collect these Willow Tree angels (just the angel ones tho') and mom gave me one of these as well as a pretty matching box that will sit to the side of the bed I think.  The doily may stay here or go there under the box but I wanted it up as inspiration.  Because the day bed is a single (and hopefully we might some day need a double?) it has a second 'spring loaded' bed that's designed to store underneath making it into a double bed - gotta think practical ya know!  I plan to make a frill to hide the stow away bed, one that has lots of lovely lace so there are a few 'pretty' touches to the room too.  It's NOT all just about crafts you know LOL!

I have yet to purchase a frame for the picture so this might look a little weird with the sconce in shot.  I'm aiming for a wide gold/brass coloured frame to make a real feature of the Thomas Kinkade print as we have a lovely matching tapestry throw for draping over the bed.

I have bits and peices of home interior hanging on every wall in the house except this room so it's nice to finally bring some in.  When it was the girls room they said "no mum!  we don't want any in here thanks!" so I was denied the chance to hang any - most disappointing.  Most of it is old now and over the years I've wished I had a bit more so I try to look for some in thrift stores when we're back home.  Kinda makes me wish I'd looked closer at some of moms.  It never occurred to me to reclaim some that I'd given her over the years - DER Suezie!  Still I'm delighted I get some in the spare room finally.

Hopefully I'm not boring you guys with all this decorating/craft room stuff.  I can't post crafts right now so I gotta post something - I missing it all.  Well I am sooooo pleased I'm tucked away in doors today - the wind just whipped around all night and today's not much better.  Looking at the trees out front swaying wildly in the wind makes me giddy (and I can do that all on my own LOL) so best not to look out the window I think.

Hugs

Suezie

I collect those too!! I have a couple of the angels and then I started to collect the family ones. I have a few now and I just love them. Your Thomas Kinkade pic is beautiful. Did you know he writes novels as well? I have 3 or 4 and I've read one and it was so good...
