I made 2 plain boxes in under 20 minutes so all I had to do was decorate them. I still have one to do plus another one I made out of coloured cardstock - I wanted to see how different they would look - but I'm sharing this one I finished off.
I love this colour combination. I didn't have a flower in the right colour so I used some that were light blue and took an ink pad to them to get the colour I wanted. Since the cardstock was two-tone and was a darker shade of blue underneath I couldn't curly the petals upwards. Instead I curled them under and used foam pads to layer them up so the curled petals sit just right.
This is the view from the side. I love that the ribbon goes up and around the sides of the box ending in a bow on top rather than criss crossing in front with a bow stuck in the middle.
This shot shows the depth of the flower and leaves but it also shows this beautiful paper off. My co-worker Pauline brought this back from a recent trip to America and although there were several designs in the pack, I've fallen in love with this one.
Since my printer is STILL behaving badly and the photo editing software has stopped working I am using a different one - an oldie but still a goodie. Since I'm really familiar with it I've managed to put a watermark on recent photos. Maybe there was a reason I was forced to go back to an older software - who knows?
Don't yet know what I'm gonna fill my boxes with or who's gonna get the first one but I can't wait to give this to someone.
