Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge 108/109

I finally got my blinkie added for being awarded one of the 'top mouse' spots for the 108 challenge.  You can view it on the right hand side of my blog - Yay me!  And thanks Lynn for sending it out to me.

And just so you know I am working on the sketch challenge for this week here is a sneaky peek!  All I will say is that I finally had a chance to play with that adorable jar image.

I have kept myself busy with little projects here and there this week - the aprons are finished (will post a picture later) and I have a new project for a friend that I am about to get busy with.  The sun is promising to shine, the weekend is fast approaching and Jilly is due to visit me today, plus I'm feeling so much better so it's all good right now.

I promise I will post something crafty tomorrow - honest! Oh and can I just send a shout out to Kay & Amanda if you girlies happen to stop by.  It has been way too long and seeing you both the other night was just lovely.

Hugs

Birthday Boy

Since I shared the card and gift wrap for my grandson's b'day I thought I'd share a picture or two more.

I whipped up a batch of birthday cupcakes and made some cake picks with the scrap circles I had left over and random stamps.  I already had red, white and blue sprinkles in the cupboard left over from the jubilee celebrations this year and I used shiny red foil cupcake cases.  I usually have a cake mix or two on hand in the store cupboard to make things like this easier but the frosting was made from scratch.

The kids always love to blow out a candle while we sing happy birthday but these days it's usually only a single one.

And here is the birthday boy opening up Grandma's hand made card and gift.  He knew immediately that it was from me.

Plus the others wanted in on the act while Grandma was snapping away so here is our motley crew aged from left to right - 12, 10 & 7.  Early next year we will have a teenager in the family again so we are already planning something big for that birthday.  Boy they sure grow up fast don't they!

And as I suspected he was thrilled with his new skinny jeans and Sponge Bob t-shirt plus he can buy himself something nice with his birthday money.  He made out like a bandit!  But birthdays are about being spoilt so why not?

And since the theme for the upcoming Waltzing Mouse blog hop is 'birthdays' and I haven't scrapped a page in a while (excluding Lily's page that is) I am tempted to get a few prints and scrap this event.  I've pinned a few cool ideas of late and I'm keen to try one or two out.

Enjoy!

Top Mouse Award

I was just checking my emails and thought it was odd that someone was congratulating me on being chosen as a top mouse over at the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge blog.  I rushed on over there and sure enough my latest submission was picked as one of the top three!  How cool is that!

First I won the freebie set of stamps (last week) and then this week my card was chosen.  There are some very creative and really inspiring design team samples and then of course all the entries so who wouldn't be inspired?

Just as soon as I get the deets for the new blinkie - I was chosen for week 108 - last time I was chosen it was week 4 would you believe?  My blinkie is somewhat old to say the least!  I will be able to proudly display it here on my blog.  I have played on and off for a while now but if I'm honest it's probably been more off than on.

For now I want to share sketch 109 with you all.  I love the look of this sketch because it reminds me of cards I see again and again and the possibilities are endless.  I am definitely planning on having a go at this one.  I could use my PTI doily die or WMS doily stamps or a choice of round dies or shapes - any number of things would work.  The hardest part might just be settling on a choice LOL!

Blessings
