Hubby and I found ourselves in need of a break from it all recently and we were fortunate to be able to stay in this beautiful cottage in Dorset. We had no TV, no telephones and only each other for company. This was the perfect tranquil haven we needed. Not to worry though as we took several books and CDs to listen to and spent our time enjoying long walks on the beach, holding hands and talking. If there had been a TV that wouldn't have happened quite so much.
We also love exploring and after a journey by steam railway we found ourselves in the beautiful village of Corfe with Corfe Castle.
The following day we went to the New Forest and hired bicycles for a 16 mile bike ride - get us! Cycling is something we've been doing a whole lot of lately - getting outdoors, just the two of us, spending time together, getting exercise and taking in the fresh air.
There were so many pretty villages to visit and that's to say nothing of the beautiful sandy beaches. At some point I hope to fill a small jar with the sand and shells I brought home. I like the idea of adding a tag with the date & place or something similar so I can remember a special time in our lives every time I look at it.
Yeah, I know, real soppy of me but so much is happening right now, not least of which is God's hand at work in both of us and that excites me. I cannot begin to describe what it feels like to see God at work, to know his provision, to see Him active and ever-present and to be changed through those times and experiences beyond anything you could imagine. I love to know my God up close and for real.
My baptism was about dedicating the remainder of my life to Him and whatever He has planned for me. It's exciting to see what has unfolded since then - I scarcely recognise myself as I once was.
At some point I hope to make a card or project and when I do I'll post it. For now you may have to settle for a few more holiday snaps but I felt I needed to check in and let anyone out there who might not have given up on me completely that I'm very much alive and living!
Hope you're all finally enjoying the summer sunshine - if you're not complaining it's too hot now that is LOL!
Suezie
