Saying Goodbye

Saying 'goodbye' is never very easy particularly when it's a sad goodbye. I should know we've had enough of them whenever we visit mom or she visits us and has to go back home.

This time however, I'm saying goodbye to Crafty Women. I mention it here because I know many of the CW gals check out my blog and I wanted to say a really BIG

'THANK YOU'

to you all. You have taught me so much and given me so many blessings that it was a real privilege to serve you and I will miss you deeply. I will even miss the committee meetings because we used to have a shared meal before hand which gave us a chance to socialise and catch up with each other before getting down to business - much more civilised and enjoyable!

Our last meeting is at the end of June and will be a 'bring & share' dinner and movie night so hopefully I can see many of you personally to say farewell.

My course is finished, and no more CW so I hope to get a bit more rest in between work and home. I am still staying with YTOC when I can because I love the freedom to design and play (and because Amanda is such a good friend that I would miss it too much).

At least now I might even have time to have a friend over to craft with me - who knows?

......and besides I can always ring one of the girls to 'do lunch' when I am missing them too much.

I've got your number and I'm not afraid to use it!

Version II

I got up early this morning and made a second version of the 'envelope fold' card. This time in bright and colourful patterns. I wanted to make it yesterday but was so tired I just had to give up and go to bed.

I chose to close this one slightly differently. I cut a small slot and passed the ribbon behind the front square. Despite having 2 grandson I don't make 'boys' stuff very often but it's very refreshing when I do and I might keep this idea in mind for Kaleb's b'day coming up in August.

This is the card slightly open and as you can probably see I relied somewhat heavily on buttons to embellish it. The shot below shows the inside panel. It's fun to go that little bit further and add some decoration inside a card too. This card is soooooo quick and easy to make. I hope Amanda is gonna like it.

As many of you know I'm no photographer and not heavily into staging my shots but lately I've tried adding a touch or two to set the scene a bit. I couldn't resist digging deep into the kids toybox to come up with a couple of cars to add even more fun to the shots.

Miss Maddy Again

When Maddy came over on Saturday she looked really cute in her red, white and blue outfit and I have some lovely red papers and embellishements just screaming to be let loose on a page. I keep hoping for a sunny day and just the right outfit so I can take some shots.

I was hoping this one would be the perfect shot but darn it - she had her EYES CLOSED!

Then she got tired of posing so I had to bribe her with a banana. I should've realised that everytime I clicked the camera her arm would shoot up to her MOUTH! I swear sometimes she knows exactly what she's doin.

OK so the banana wasn't working and then to make it worse she discovered that Grandma's bench had COBWEBS on it so she didn't want to sit there any more!

Then when I was looking back at what I had captured on the computer this evening I discovered this sweet little shot. I look at this and am amazed that I can actually see her face but then she did have her first 'real' hair cut recently so I guess her fringe is a whole lot shorter. No more hiding behind it huh?

This is Miss Maddy - just as we know and love her. I guess I can settle for this one.
